Upgrading the internal hard drive of PS4 PRO to 2tb is our recommendations for the overwhelming majority of users, but you can though go with 6tb HDD if your PS4 PRO console is shared among family and each member needs his own set of games to play. As a side benefit to this, an additional 512MB of GDDR5 is available for developers to use for games adding up to 5.5GB, as opposed to the 5GB available on base PS4 hardware. GDDR5 memory speed was increased from 5.5 GHz (or 4x 1.375 GHz) to 6.8 GHz (or 4x 1.7 GHz) increasing total memory bandwidth to 218GB/s which correlates to a 23.8% improvement.

The BarraCuda Pro 10TB is ideal for desktops and all-in-ones, home servers, and for creative professional systems where large files are the norm. What happened to the 7200.13 is unclear, perhaps in a bout of superstition they decided to skip it. 6tb HDD storage is way too big for regular PS4 PRO users
Diving right into the specifications of this drive, we have a model number of ST10000DM0004. Another good use for the drive is for direct attached storage (DAS) either packaged by Seagate or used in a driveless enclosure. We tested the 2 TB version of the Seagate Barracuda 7200.14, which you can recognize by the product code ST2000DM001. The capacity of 6tb doesn’t seem to be relevant to mainstream/average PS4 PRO users who don’t have many high-end games to play on their game console. You can find it for an average price of £90, which is quite affordable for a 2 TB disk. Perhaps the company has leveraged some of the algorithms developed over the last few years for SSD controllers and is scattering data equally about the platters. The hard drive uses the SATA 600 interface, and has 64 MB cache. We also brought HD Tach out of retirement, and it seemed to say that the Barracuda Pro retains its speed across the entirety of its capacity. Eventually, going for a 6tb hard drive for PS4 PRO is only recommended to extreme enthusiasts or those who have their game console shared among family members. On the other hand, the performance drop is definitely noticeable. Hard drives rated to 6Gb/s SATA III interface speeds communicate with a PC faster, but at the outset the speed bump is going to be muted and in real world terms it is not twice as fast as a 3Gb/s drives.
